Last week Twyford performed MTI's hit musical 'Made in Dagenham' to four sell-out audiences.
Based on a true story, Made in Dagenham explores the movement that caused a significant law reform (resulting in the passing of the Equal Pay Act of 1970). Rita O'Grady leads the 1968 Ford sewing machinists strike at the Ford Dagenham plant, where female workers walk out to protest sexual discrimination, demanding equal pay. The show felt especially relevant in the week of the General Election, and we held a collection each night for ActionAid's Womens Rights Fund. We are delighted to have raised over £1000 for this excellent cause.
