From 7th to 14th April 2025, a group of Year 9 students took part in a memorable French exchange trip to Lyon. Staying with host families, the students were fully immersed in French culture and daily life. During weekdays, they attended lessons at a local French school in Meyzieu, gaining first-hand experience of the French education system and sharing activities with their French peers.
The programme included a range of cultural visits: a tour of the Groupama Stadium, home of Olympique Lyonnais; the Musée Lumière, dedicated to the history of cinema; and the Basilique de Fourvière with nearby Roman ruins. Students also explored the city centre, including Bellecour Square, the Musée de l’Illusion, and the Old Town of Lyon, where they enjoyed local ice cream at Terre Adélice. Additional highlights included a scenic boat tour, a visit to the Tête d’Or park and zoo, the Musée des Confluences, and time for shopping in Lyon’s vibrant high streets and shopping centres.
